Lithology and Thickness

It consists of 1030 feet of resistant, feature-forming, cream to brown-weathering, well-jointed limestone with shelly intercalations. The Ahwaz sandstone member is a sequence of calcareous sandstone, sandy limestone, and, minor shale at the basal few hundred feet of the Asmari.
